Summer Vacations in the Lungau

In summer the Lungau is all about sports, fun, recreation, wellness and one wonderful vacation day after the next.  Our high alpine valley is nestled amid the Tauern and Nockberge mountains.  In the countryside which surrounds Sporthaus Pichler and Haus Pfarrkirchner are magnificent hiking routes, mountain bike trails and bike paths.

The Lungau region has continued to nurture its folk costumes and traditions, including the Samson and Prangstangen parades, as well as the so-called Kasmandl Walk. No wonder, then, that the cultural calendar is filled with theatre, concerts and other special events year-round.  Harvest Festival season promises a wealth of culinary variety, while it is also the most beautiful time of year to go hiking.

Families can immerse themselves in the Middle Ages at the region’s castles and palaces, take a nostalgic steam-train ride, discover fascinating museums or explore nature trails.  Swimming pools and spas, clear rivers and mountain tarns provide refreshment for body and soul.
